Children’s Therapy Clinic

Charleston, West Virginia

Children's Therapy Clinic will use a $10,000 grant to provide occupational, physical and music therapy services for six months for eight children with special needs who have insufficient insurance and/or income and live in Kanawha, Putnam, and surrounding counties of West Virginia. In 2025, Children's Therapy Clinic provided 2,400 therapy visits to 77 children at no cost to the families. This is the 2nd consecutive grant for Children's Therapy Clinic.

Community Autism Resources & Education Systems “CARES”

Hurricane, West Virginia

Community Autism Resources & Education Systems “CARES” is being awarded $10,000 to fund 12 monthly events and 8 weekly events during the summer months. Each event is held in an engaging environment such as a swimming pool, children’s museum, or trampoline park, where families affected by autism may not be able to enjoy without support. At each event, families have access to food, sensory-friendly activities, and accommodations for autistic children. This is the 2nd consecutive CARES grant.

Exceptional Possibilities will use a $5,000 grant to fund Inclusive Monthly Events, which give families of children with disabilities the opportunity to gather for seasonal-themed social activities led by an experienced special education teacher, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This is the 2nd consecutive grant awarded to Exceptional Possibilities.

Silver Spring, Maryland

Independence Now received a $5,000 grant to support their 27th anniversary Youth Leadership Forum, where 30 culturally diverse youth with disabilities will convene at Towson University to build leadership skills and prepare for future employment, higher education, and independent living, as well as other youth-focused events covering topics including self-advocacy, travel training, financial literacy, college exploration, and emergency preparedness. This is the 2nd consecutive grant awarded to Independence Now.

Lakota Technical School

Pine Ridge Oglala-Lakota Reservation, South Dakota

Lakota Technical School is receiving its 4th consecutive grant from The Jake Cassell Fund, continuing support for Lakota Tech's Life Skills program. This year, a $10,000 continuing grant will fund a student-run coffee cart program, a college and vocational campus visit program, sensory room improvements, an 8th Grade transition program, community job shadowing, and professional development for the staff.

Spotsylvania Education Foundation

Fredericksburg, Virginia

Spotsylvania Education Foundation will use a $10,000 grant to support the REACH Program's entrepreneurship and life-skills initiative for young adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism spectrum disorder. Through hands-on instruction and a partnership with the University of Mary Washington, students will participate in workshops focused on product creation, business operations, workplace readiness, and independent living skills. Funding will provide materials and supplies needed for students to create and sell handmade products through both an online marketplace and in-person shops such as craft fairs and events, while developing employment skills and financial literacy.

Washington DC

Variety DC is receiving its third consecutive grant from The Jake Cassell Fund. This year's $5,000 grant will provide adaptive bikes for children with special needs, supporting Variety DC's effort to reach 75 adaptive bikes delivered to children with special needs in the Washington, DC region to date.
